Street in Segovia

Not only streets are narrow in Spain. Also some of their buildings :). This is somewhere in Segovia, I will probably have to search Google maps a lot to find the exact place.

Exploring Madrid after dark

Each day I was in Madrid, I tried to take at least a few shots after sunset. I only managed to take a few, as I was quite tired after a whole day of walking :).

This photo was combined using Photomatix and also Oloneo Photo engine. What I have noticed is, that Oloneo is really great when you have some very dark areas in your photo. It creates much less artifacts in the final result. I used it for the sky in this shot.

Morning in Toledo

You can see every megapixel of the new camera here. The detail is stunning. The bigger you see this photo, the better it looks :)

Classic shot in the Segovia Cathedral

This really is a classic composition for a place like this :). I just could resist to also have a photo like this. I took this shot in the cloister of the Segovia Cathedral in Segovia. I wanted to try few different composition, but few seconds after I took this shot, I was asked to stop using my tripod, and the security guard started walking around, interfering with my shots. Probably he thought I will destroy the stone floor tiles with the rubber feet of my tripod :) But either way, I'm happy with this shot.

The big 10

or one of the old bridges in Toledo (I couldn't find how it's called). I of course couldn't resist not to go under the bridge to take few shots. The water was really calm that day, giving me this perfect reflection :)

Night in Madrid

I don't really like when the sky is absolutely black in a photo, but I had no other option here. As I only took three shots, the brightest one was not bright enough. My mistake. It's always better to take more bracket and don't need them, than taking less and missing them.

Iglesia de Los Jesuitas

White objects (walls, cars, anything else) are not the best subject for HDR. You have to be very careful, not to make the white turn into grey in your final result. This very beautiful church in Toledo, the Iglesia de Los Jesuitas is one of the very bright churches, with all the walls very white. This is why I used the HDR postprocess only on small parts of the photo, everything that was not white. Together with a lot of brightening, I think it worked really well.

Also this was only the second church I visited in Spain (first one being the Almudena Cathedral) where I was allowed to use a tripod. Don't really understand why they allow you to take photos, but they are against the use of tripods :)

Aqueduct of Segovia

I had no luck for a nice light in Segovia. The day was quite cold and cloudy. Only later the sky cleared a little, but still, the light was horrible. But I tried my best. I actually edited this photo 2 times, as I was so dissatisfied with the first result, that I deleted it and started once more :)
